Petrus Riga

Peter Riga ( * 1140, † 1209) was a French clergyman, poet and canons at the cathedral of Reims. In Latin he wrote the Aurora, an influential in the later Middle Ages Versbibel. In late medieval manuscripts it is often referred to as Petrus de Riga, which wrongly suggested an origin from the Latvian Riga. He studied in Paris.

Beichner is on 1965 248 surviving manuscripts. Hence, many more have been found, such as Cod.Sal.IX, 30 and Cod.Sal.IX, 62, both located in the Heidelberg University Library and are also available in digital form.
