Pettit (lunar crater)

Pettit is an impact crater on the far western edge of the moon in front of the mountain range of the Montes Rook, southwest of the crater Nicholson. The rim is only slightly eroded, the interior is uneven.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1970 after the American astronomer Edison Pettit.
