Phenomenon (UFO album)

Occupation

Phenomenon is the third studio album by British hard rock band UFO, which was released in May 1974.

Less than a year before the release of the album, in June 1973, met with the then 18- year-old Michael Schenker joined the band after he had separated from his old band, the Scorpions. When he arrived in England he did not speak a word of English. Nevertheless, the communication worked so well right away that soon the work could be included on the album.

Schenker was instrumental in the creation of the song material, which had a clearly audible sound of the band changed to the consequence. Henceforth came the previously strong influences from Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple into the background.

The album was recorded at Morgan Studios in London and produced by Ten Years After bass player Leo Lyons. 1994 was of Sound Recording Technology, Cambridge remastered. The cover design is by Hipgnosis.

The song Doctor, Doctor who became a figurehead for the band, was often gecovert later, eg from since the 80s very successful heavy metal band Iron Maiden.
