Phil May (singer)

Phillip " Phil" May ( born November 9, 1944 in Dartford ) is a singer and composer of the rock band The Pretty Things.

Rooted in the blues through his singing and his compositions, he has shaped the foundation in 1963 much the sound of the Pretty Things. He fell in the early 1960s by its image. He was regarded as "the man with the longest hair in Europe". The aggressive, sometimes chaotic stage performances of May and the Pretty Things the early days caused a sensation and hard rock songs such as Do not bring me down and Midnight to six men for some charts quotations.

1968 created The Pretty Things, based on a short story by May, with SF Sorrow the first concept album in rock history. At that time a commercial failure, the plant is now considered a milestone in psychedelic rock music.
