Phil Younghusband

Philip James Younghusband (* August 4, 1987 in Ashford ) is an English- Filipino footballer who played in the Academy of Chelsea FC. He played as a striker and was established in March 2005 as a professional after he was with the Londoners since the age of ten.

Life

Philip was born in Ashford, Middlesex, England, the son of a British and a Filipina.

He was the top scorer in the youth team of the season 2003/ 04 and ran in November 2004 for the first time for the backup crew. In the season 2005/ 06 Phil was 21 times for the Chelsea reserve squad, played 18 times and scored five goals. He also appeared once as a substitute for the Chelsea youth team. In August 2007 he was loaned to Esbjerg fB, but from where he returned in January 2008.

Phil's older brother James Younghusband played after his time at Chelsea, among others at FC Woking. Both brothers played for the Philippine U-23 selection at the South East Asia Games 2005. Phil scored two goals in the 4-2 defeat against Malaysia. He is now in the senior national team.

Early 2005, attention was drawn by a Playstation 2 players unspecified on the Younghusbands because the found out that they are Filipino descent the Philippine Football Federation. He and his older brother, James, were eventually called to the crew of the Southeast Asia Games.

In the summer of 2008 Younghusbands ended contract with Chelsea.

After a year at the Philippine Association San Beda Red Lions, he is since the beginning of 2012 together with his brother at Loyola FC under contract.
