Philip Bruce White

Philip Bruce White ( born December 29, 1891 in Bangor (Wales ), † 19 March 1949 in London ) was a British bacteriologist.

Work

White published in 1926 a scheme for the classification of Salmonella on serological basis. This was later expanded and developed by the Danish bacteriologist Fritz Kauffmann. As a result, it was called Kauffmann -White scheme.

In 1941, White as a member ( "Fellow" ) was admitted to the Royal Society.
