Philip Craven

Sir Philip Craven MBE ( born July 4, 1950 in Bolton) is a former British wheelchair basketball player and since 2001 head of the International Paralympic Committee, the Paralympic Games aligns among others.

Since 2003 he also serves on the International Olympic Committee.

Career as an athlete

Philip Craven was with the British Wheelchair national champion in 1973 and two years later won the bronze medal. He also twice won European Championship gold medals and one EM- Silver and won with the team at the 1970 Commonwealth Games.
