Philip Ernest, Count of Hohenlohe-Langenburg
Philipp Ernst zu Hohenlohe- New Stone (* August 11, 1584 in Langenburg, † January 29, 1628 in Weikersheim ) was Count of Hohenlohe -Langenburg.
Biography
He was born as the fourth son of Wolfgang Graf zu Hohenlohe- New Stone (1546-1610), who later became regent of the county Weikersheim and his wife Magdalena von Nassau- Dillenburg ( 1547-1643 ).
After war service in the Netherlands he inherited from his uncle Count Philip of Hohenlohe- New Stone (1550-1606), the Dutch rule Lißfeld. After the death of his father he received in 1610 after the division of the country with his brothers Georg Friedrich ( 1569-1647 ) ( Weikersheim ) and force ( 1582-1641 ) (New Stone ) the rule Langenburg, where he immediately began the construction of the castle Langenburg. Until his dismissal as a colonel of the States General, he often stayed on in the Netherlands.
He died at the age of 44 years at a " stone disease " in Weikersheim. He was buried with his wife in the crypt of Langenburg city church. Behind the altar still stands a stone monument in memory of the couple.

On January 15, 1609 he married Countess Anna Maria of Solms- Sonnenwalde ( 1585-1634 ), daughter of Count Otto zu Solms - Sonnenwalde.
