Philipp Crone

Philip Crone ( born March 16, 1977 in Cologne ) is a German hockey player, who became world champion in 2002 and 2006.

Philip Crone played for Rot-Weiß München. With this club in 2001 he was German indoor champion.

1997 was Crone in DHB squad, who won at the European Indoor Championships and in the FIH Champions Trophy. As of 1998, the center-back a regular in the German national hockey team. In World Championship bronze in 1998 followed in 1999 two European title, as the team won both indoors as well as outdoors. At his first Olympic participation in 2000, he was only fifth. In May 2007, Philip Crone finished his career in order to devote himself entirely to his profession as a journalist can. With 349 international matches, including 22 in the hall, surpassing Crone Bjorn Michel. He remained until 2012 most-capped player until he was overtaken by Matthias Witt house.
