Phlegraean Islands

The Phlegraean Islands (it.: Isole Flegree ) are an archipelago in the Gulf of Naples. It includes the islands of Ischia with Aragonese Castle, Procida, Vivara and Nisida.

The name is derived from the Phlegraean Fields, the geological region whose volcanic activity, the islands owe their origin. Together with the islands of Capri is also described as Campanian Archipelago.
