Pierre Gaviniès

Pierre Gaviniès ( Gavinies ) ( born May 11, 1728 in Bordeaux, † September 8, 1800 in Paris ) was a French violinist and composer.

Life

Pierre Gaviniès was the son of François Gaviniès luthier and one of the most important French violinist personalities of the 18th century. At the age of thirteen, he shone on the side of l' Abbé le fils called Joseph- Barnabé Saint- Sevin (1727-1803) in a duo of Jean -Marie Leclair in Concert Spirituel. At a very young age, he was one of the sought-after virtuoso in Paris, he refused even to serve in the royal chapel from.
