The fleshy leaves are oblong - round, they reach a length of 40 to 80 (rarely 25 to 90 ) millimeters and a width of 10 to 20 ( 5-25 ) mm. A Hibernakel for overwintering missing.

Flowers and Fruit

The blooms reach the spur including a length of 17 to 24 (15 to 26) millimeters. The upper sepal is three parts lobed, the lobes broadly ovate -oblong rounded are rounded at the extremity, 4-6 mm long and 2-3 mm wide. The lower sepal is in two parts, the broadly ovate - triangular lobes are rounded at the extremity, and about 3 millimeters long. The flat-out petals are white and violet colored to sky blue and wearing a yellow throat patch, the lobes of the upper and lower Kronblattes are approximately equal designed reverse- ovate to nearly round, 10 to 13 (rarely over 8 ) mm long and 10 to 14 millimeters wide, the lower three parts lobed. The palate is tapered peg- shaped and clearly stands out from the throat. The approximately cylindrical corolla tube is hairy inside, 4-6 (rarely to 8 ) mm long and 3-5 mm wide. The obtuse angle of 135 to 150 degrees of her outgoing, almost cylindrical and scarcely hairy spur reaches a length of 3 to 4 ( 2-5 ) millimeters.

Distribution, habitat, endangerment

Pinguicula primuliflora is exclusively in the southeastern United States is home (Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida). They settled there wet locations without standing water, quite well in shaded, rarely, moist, sandy soils of pine - lands. It is, depending on location, among other things, associated with peat moss and Pallavicinia - styles - in - ditches with found Eriocaulon, sundew and moss ferns.

System

Pinguicula primuliflora was first described by Carroll Emory Wood and Robert Kenneth Godfrey in 1957, the specific epithet refers to the typical primelähnliche bloom. In his monograph on the genus Casper placed it in the section Isoloba.
