Piotr Libera

Piotr Libera ( born March 20, 1951 in Szopienice ) is Bishop of Płock.

Life

The Bishop of Katowice, Herbert Bednorz, ordained him priest on 15 April 1976. John Paul II appointed him on 23 November 1996 Titular Bishop of Centuria and Auxiliary Bishop of Katowice.

The Pope personally donated to it on 6 January of the next year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Giovanni Battista Re, substitute of the Secretariat of State, and Miroslav Stefan Marusyn, secretary of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches.

As a motto he chose Jesus, in Te confido - Deus Caritas est. On 2 May 2007 he was appointed Bishop of Płock and introduced into the office on 31 May of the same year.
