Pirates of the Caribbean (attraction)

Pirates of the Caribbean is a theme ride at Disney theme parks Disneyland (California ) Magic Kingdom (Florida), Tokyo Disney Resort ( Japan) and Disneyland Paris ( France). It provided the inspiration for the eponymous film series, and for the first two parts of the computer game Monkey Iceland. It is one of the most popular and famous Disney attractions. The Disneyland Resort is the oldest and original version of the attraction. It was opened on 18 March 1967, and is the last Disneyland attraction personally mitplante at Walt Disney. In the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort is the story basically the same as in Disneyland, where you have the drive shortened to six minutes.

The version at the Tokyo Disneyland is an almost exact copy of the variant in Florida. In Disneyland Paris, the story is slightly different from the other Disney parks, with the most important parts are the same. However, the movie characters were not used.

Visitors ride in a boat down a waterfall and go straight into the world of pirates. Various scenes convey the life of a privateer by moving and talking characters. Gunshots, looting and burning buildings are just a few parts of the adventure, which of the pirate song Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life For Me) is accompanied.

Originally, the attraction was planned in the 1950s as a waxwork, but develops into a boat ride through complex scenes with audio - animatronics. 1997 and 2006 it was renovated.

Description of trip

First you go through a tropical lagoon, past the Blue Bayou Restaurant ( at the Magic Kingdom is instead a pirate bay to see ) before a waterfall going down from caves and pirates hiding in a maze. After a few minutes the small boats find their way into the open where they fall in the middle of a fierce battle between the pirate Barbossa on his ship and a Caribbean fort.

It is now headed for a small village, which is being plundered by pirates. In the main square of the village you can see how the pirates Mayor Carlos dive into the well and to him the secret of the hiding place of the treasure, revolves around the story to elicit. A few meters further you can now see Captain Jack Sparrow, hiding behind a clothes rack. The boats go through the village, past a pirate who auctioned the captive women from the village to his crew, a pair of drunken pirates, another Jack Sparrow figure, three drunken pirates who blare continuously the subject song Yo Ho and finally in the middle of the lighted from the pirate city that threatens to collapse.

Now it goes into one of the burning houses, where a few pirates try to escape from the burning prison. Then it goes through a gunfight between another drunken, singing pirates. Recently, the boats a waterfall climb passing Jack Sparrow with his treasure before then reliably to Lafety 's Landing.

Changes in 2006

In 2006, the theme ride was renovated by Walt Disney Imagineering and visually adapted to the start of the second part of the film series Pirates of the Caribbean. From the Disneyland version of a controversial scene has been removed, had been persecuted in the attractive women of the pirates. Two of them are now hauling a heavy treasure, while the third is threatened by a woman with a gun.
