Pittyvaich distillery

Pittyvaich was a whiskey distillery in Dufftown, Banffshire, Moray, Scotland. The fire produced was thus the associate Speyside Whisky Region.

History

The distillery was founded in 1974 by Arthur Bell & Sons. In 1975, the distillery on the operation. It was conceived as a sister company of Dufftown Distillery and Malt Whisky should produce for producing blends. To burn pot stills were used, each two coarse ( wash stills ) and fine blisters ( spirit stills ) were available. In 1993 the operation was closed again. In the following years, attempts to produce Gordon 's Gin took place. In 2002, the buildings were demolished.

Samples

The first semi-official bottling of a single malt whiskeys from Pittyvaich was expended under the Flora and Fauna series 1991. Previously, several bottlings independent bottler Signatory and including Cadenhead's had already been put on the market.
