Piya Ka Ghar (Hindi: पिया का घर, piya ghar kā; Urdu: پیا کا گھر, translated: The house of the Beloved ) is a Hindi film directed by Basu Chatterjee from the year 1972.

Action

Ram lives with his family, consisting of parents, two brothers, a sister in law, three uncles and two aunts in a small apartment in the city of Bombay. Malti, however, lives with her family in a comfortable house in a small village.

Their paths lead together, arrange their parents as a matchmaker / matchmaker. In fact, Ram and Malti fall in love and their love soon resulted in a wedding. Traditionally, Malti moves into the house of her husband, not knowing what they will expect there.

In Maltis one-bedroom apartment is no place and the newlyweds are forced to sleep in the kitchen. This amount is not to think of privacy. Soon it keeps Malti no more, so that her father brings them back to the village.

Only when Rams family agreed to move out of the apartment, she changes her mind. Now Ram and Malti enjoy the long-awaited togetherness.
