Jaya Bachchan
Jaya Bachchan ( born Jaya Bhaduri, hindi, जया बच्चन, Jaya Baccan; Bengali জযা ভাদূড়ী, Jaya Bhaduri, born April 9, 1948 in Jabalpur ), daughter of Bengali writer Tarun Bhaduri, is an Indian actress, who since June 3, 1973 is married to film star Amitabh Bachchan. Under her maiden name, Jaya Bhaduri, they shot most of her career, but in more recent films, they used the name Jaya Bachchan.
For her acting skills she has received many awards, including several Filmfare Awards. 1974 Filmfare Award for Best Actress for Abhimaan and 1979 for Nauker. The price for Best Supporting Actress she received in 2000 for Fiza, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham 2001 and 2003 Kal Ho Naa Ho for
Jaya and Amitabh made together many films, including Abhimaan, Zanjeer and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. They have two children, Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta. She is an active member of the Samajwadi Party and sits on it in the Rajya Sabha. Bachchan has engaged in many charitable institutions such as UNICEF.
