Plastician

Plastician (formerly Plasticman ) is the stage name of the British DJ and producer Chris Reed from Thornton Heath, London.

With DJing, mainly from UK Garage, Chris Reed began at the age of 16 years. As a DJ he put in sequence at BBC Radio 1 and various pirate radio stations in the UK, such as 2G FM and Delight FM, on. Since 2004 he has regularly 23-1 clock (GMT) with his own show heard on Rinse FM. At 18, he began to be active as a producer. His first production was " Venom " at Slimzos Recordings in 2002. More releases on record labels ARMY, Southside Dubstars, Contagious, Road, Soulja and Aphex Twins' Rephlex Records followed. In 2004 he founded the label Terrorhythm Recordings, with whom he established himself as a major producer of the Grime scene. With this label, 2008, his debut album " Beg to Differ " appeared.

The musical style of Plastician is a mixture of the directions of East London Grime and the South London dubstep.

Name Change

When Chris Reed under the name Plasticman was always known, threatened Richie Hawtin, who has the rights to the name " Plastikman ", with legal action. To avoid a lawsuit Reed changed his stage name to Plastician.
