Platinum Tower (Beirut)

The Platinum Tower is located in the coast of Beirut in Lebanon. The building complex consists of two single high-rise buildings that act like a single tower. They are at the Saint George Bay in Beirut Central District.

Location

The high-rise buildings are located in the Wafik Professor Sinno Avenue, right on the promenade, the Corniche Beirut or at the new Marina of Beirut, Zaitunay Bay. The building with its 152.5 meters one of the new landmarks of Beirut on the coast. There are more high-rise buildings such as the also in 2008 completed, 125 -meter high bay tower and the 150 -meter-high Marina Towers in the surrounding area. Built in 1961 and in 2000 Phoenicia Intercontinental Hotel, which was once one of the most striking landmarks of Beirut with its 22 storeys, has now lost this item.

Building

The Platinium Tower consist of two towers, the higher on the lake side and the lower ones on the side of the city center. It was planned and built by the architect Nabil Gholam and Ricardo Bofill as a luxury apartment homes. The higher tower reaches with its 34 floors has a height of 152.5 meters and is therefore currently (2014) is the tallest building in Lebanon. In the basement is located on 4 floors with a total of 360 garage parking spaces. About a total of 14 elevators with 63 apartments can be reached. The building could be a year later than planned, completed in 2008. A direct access to Zaitunay Bay over a bridge is planned but not yet implemented.

Lighting

The towers are lit up at night on the corners and on the roof with wide bands of light. In every ninth floor are horizontal bands of light.
