Plätlinsee

The Plätlinsee located southeast of Mirow and south of Neustrelitz in the south of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in the Mecklenburg Lake District. The elongated lake is more than 3.8 km long and up to 700 meters wide. It is divided by a narrow peninsula into a southern and a northern part. In the northern part there is about 19 acres and wooded to large parts of the island Hühne Werder. Large parts of the lakeshore are marshy and have a wide reed belt.

The water area is located entirely within the municipality Wustrow, whose main town Wustrow is located on the southwestern shore of the lake. Here there is also a portage for canoeists to Klenzsee. Water hikers may cross the lake only within the buoyed area Schwaanhavel direction.

To the south of the Plätlinsee has a small tributary ( Reeksgraben ) to the Great Pälitzsee. In the north the Schwaanhavel leaves the lake.

The northern part of the lake and a large part of the western shore lying together with adjacent land in the 319 -hectare nature reserve North Shore Plätinsee.
