PÅ‚onia (river)

BW

The Płonia ( German Płonia ) is a river in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It originates from the Jezioro Barlineckie ( Berlinchener lake ) and flows in a northwesterly direction to Jezioro Plon ( Plönesee ) and the Jezioro Miedwie ( Madüsee ). In Dabie ( Altdamm ) the Płonia leads after 74 km in the Jezioro Dabie ( dam 's lake).

The river was first mentioned in 1176. The monks of the monastery Kolbatz regulated end of the 12th century the lower reaches of Płonia, to make them navigable to the dam 's lake and to gain new farmland. In 1900, a distance of 1 km length at the mouth was only navigable.
