Podbila

Podbila is a village community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It belongs to the municipality Posušje.

East of Podbila is Vir, south Ričice and the Croatian border. To the north is Zavelim. In the village live almost exclusively Catholic Croats.

History

The place is located in a canyon of the river Ričina. Podbila was from the 16th century to 1735 an independent parish. 1626 were first documented in the Zupa Podbila and Sovici (Gorica ).

The Church in Podbila was built in 1937 and dedicated to St. Peter. It belongs to the parish of Vir.

Community structure

Podbila is divided into Budimiri, Lazete, Gavranovići, Marijanići, Tonkići, Bosići, Lučina Petrovića Cera, Vranići and Lukići.
