Podhorní Újezd a Vojice

Podhorní Újezd ​​a Vojice (until 1991 Podhorní Újezd ​​) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 13 kilometers south-east of Jičín and belongs to Okres Jičín.

Geography

Podhorní Újezd ​​a Vojice is on the left of the creek at the foot of Bukovka Horschitzer sandstone ridge. To the northwest rises the Hůra ( 389 m ) in the north of Maxinec (450 m) and in the northeast of Chlum ( 449 m). East of the village, the transverse valley of the river Javorka located by the mountain range of Mlázovický Chlum. In Podhorní Újezd ​​are in Mlázovický Chlum numerous quarries.

Through the village the Europa road 442 / State Road 35 leads between Hradec Králové and Jičín. One kilometer south runs the rail link between these cities, where the station is located Vojice.

History

Vojice

The first mention of Vojice was in 1357 as the seat of Vladiken Zdeněk of Vojice. 1515 acquired a Jan Vojický Nová Ves the festivals Vojice. Until the 17th century, changed hands from the festivals and went out. After the Battle of White Mountain, Albrecht of Wallenstein bought 1624 Vojice.
