Podlechy, Kętrzyn County

Podlechy ( German Podlechen ) is a district of Korsze in Poland in the Warmia - Mazury. The village is located in northern Poland in the historic East Prussia.

History

The village was created with permission from the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order Ludolf King of Wattzau on 23 June 1342. The village belongs to the space spanned five hooves. 1785 there were 18 residential buildings, in 1817 there were 19 in which 161 people lived. A fire in July 1908 destroyed the village for the most part. In May 1939, but lived again already 275 people in Podlechen. In early January 1945, the area and thus the village was occupied by the Red Army. As a result of the Second World War was Podlechen as Podlech part of Poland. 1970 lived 362 people in Podlechy. In 1973 the village seat of a Schulz Office ( sołectwo ) was at what were the villages Olsztynka and Krzemity. Today, the village is part of the city Korsze.

By Podlechy the voivodship road runs 590 ( droga wojewódzka 590) which after about twelve kilometers through Reszel leads to the south and flows through Korsze and finally north of Barciany in the Province Road 591 to the north.
