Poggioreale (Naples)
Poggio Reale is the 16th of the 30 districts ( Quarters ) of the southern Italian port city of Naples. It belongs to the eastern outskirts of Naples.
The district Poggio Reale, together with the districts of San Lorenzo, Vicaria and Zona Industriale an administrative unit, the Municipalità IV of Naples.
Geography and demography
Poggio Reale begins east of the historic center of Naples, is 4.45 square kilometers and had (calculated, together with the sparsely populated district of Zona Industriale ) in 2009, 29,243 inhabitants. In the south of the district is the main railway station, but he's already in Zona Industriale. The Via Nuova Poggio Reale passes through the entire district ( although it is contributing accepts several different names ).
Notable places and buildings
Centro Direzionale
The Centro Direzionale is the largest office and business center of Naples. Among the many high-rise buildings but are also a few houses. It was built in the 80s and 90s of the 20th century according to the plans of the Japanese Kenzo Tange.
Prison Poggio Reale
