Pohnpei State

Pohnpei is a member state of the Federated States of Micronesia.

In addition to the eponymous main island Pohnpei include even the inhabited atolls Sapwuahfik, Mokil and Pingelap and the south -lying Polynesian enclaves Kapingamarangi and Nukuoro to this Micronesian part of the state - a total of over 162 small islands and atolls. The area of the state is 345.5 km ², with 336.7 km ² attributable to the main island. 2009 caught the football team from Pohnpei stir in the British media.

Capital of the state is part of Kolonia on the island of Pohnpei.
