Pointe de Penhir

The Pointe de Penhir (also Pen -Hir geschr.; bret Beg Penn Hir. ) Is a rocky headland on the Crozon peninsula in the Finistère department in Brittany. It belongs to the municipality of Camaret -sur -Mer.

The rocks are so rugged that there alpinists practice mountain climbing. Ahead lie Les Tas de Pois, the peas Islands. From the Pointe de Penhir one has a wonderful view of the other capes of the Crozon Peninsula ( Pointe de Dinan, Cap de la Chevre and Pointe des Espagnols ) and in the distance on Cap Sizun with the Pointe du Van, the Pointe du Raz and the Baie des Trepasses. On the way are the alignments of Lagat Jar, where nearly 150 menhirs were erected of white quartzite and the dolmen of Rostudel.
