Poitiers Basket 86

Poitiers Basket 86 is a French basketball club from Poitiers. He plays in the French basketball league, LNB Pro A.

History

The club was founded in 2004 by the merger of CEP Poitiers and Stade Poitevin.

Poitiers began in the third-tier National 3 2005 and managed to move up to the LNB Pro B, the second division. In this first one could hold just under 2006 /07, however, the club came to the final for promotion to the 1st League, but lost Besançon BCD. The following year, it worked through the playoff victory against Limoges CSP Élite then with the rise.

In the first year in the LNB Pro A one succeeded surprisingly directly into the play- offs, it lost to in the quarterfinals to the eventual champions Cholet Basket. 2010/11, Poitiers saved only on the final day with a victory before the descent. 2011/12 they played again a bad season, but was nevertheless still 13 and received the league.

Hall

The club plays its home games out usually in the Saint Eloi, where 2,700 viewers have a place. For larger crowds, the club plays in the larger Les Arenes, which has a capacity of 4,800 seats.
