Polycom, Inc. is a publicly traded U.S. manufacturer of telecommunications equipment. The company mainly produces audio and video conferencing solutions ago, employed 2010 3.230 employees and had a turnover of 1.2 billion U.S. dollars.

The company was involved in the establishment of major audio formats. In October 2001, Polycom acquired PictureTel Corporation to, from which it took over the rights to the Siren - format family. As part of the Study Group 16 of ITU- T Polycom has been involved in the standardization of the method based on G.722.1 and G.719 Siren. The company holds several software patents on parts of frames used in these formats algorithms and awards paid user licenses.
