Pontypool

Pontypool (Welsh Pont -y- pwl ) is a city with about 37,000 inhabitants in the Welsh county borough of Torfaen ( Unitary Authority). The town is a former industrial city, in which there was both a large coal mining and steel tradition and artisan working with Japanese lacquer companies. After the crisis the Welsh industry, the city is slowly recovering and is used for a dormitory town for the neighboring Cwmbran and Newport.

The drummer of the Manic Street Preachers, Sean Moore, comes from this city. The town of Bretten in Baden- Württemberg is one of the Twin Cities Pontypools.
