Port of Tanjung Pelepas
The Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP ) is a container port on the eastern mouth of the Pulai River in south-western Johor, Malaysia, just north of Singapore.
Construction, sales, capacity
The port was opened on 10 October 1999, reached within 571 days, one million TEUs (Twenty - Foot Equivalent Units ). The growth continued and in 2001 over 2 million TEUs, and handled over 4 million TEUs in 2004. In 2006 there were 4.7 million TEUs.
The terminal is one of 30 % Maersk Line via its holding company, Seaport Terminal. In 2002, Evergreen Marine Corporation also moved to Pelepas.
