Porto Montenegro

Porto Montenegro is a Luxury yacht marina including adjacent waterfront development in Tivat, Montenegro.

The area still partially under construction, was formerly a shipyard in a former possession of the Navy of the SFR Yugoslavia, lost its importance after the Civil War. This attractive plot of land on which the shipyard is located, was publicly offered for sale in 2006 and purchased by Canadian businessman Peter Munk. In 2008, it was confirmed that he is not the sole owner - Munk holds 54% of the ownership interests of the Porto Montenegro company - the rest is owned by Oleg Deripaska, Nathaniel Rothschild, Jacob Rothschild, Bernard Arnault, Sandor Demijan and Anthony Munk.

Munk has announced that he wants to build a luxury yacht marina and waterfront, which would meet the needs of the growing community of superyacht owners needs. The convenient location of Tivat in the secluded area of the bay of Kotor with a simultaneous close to Tivat Airport favor the location of the marina.

Porto Montenegro is the first comprehensive state of the art deep water marina in the Adriatic. When completed, it will offer 600 to 650 berths for all sizes - there are at least 130 places for super yachts from 30 to 150 m in length reserved. The offer is complemented by luxury apartments, shops, restaurants and other sports and entertainment options.

Porto Montenegro development is done here in stages, there are currently about 185 Marina berths, five buildings with mixed use and 130 luxury residences, over 20 retail stores, a complete sports complex, a yacht club, a 64 -meter " infinity pool " and a lounge bar called " Lido Mar", a marine and local history museum and a still planned waterfront five-star boutique hotel. The following phases are to be developed in line with demand. In connection with Porto Montenegro for projects such as an 18- hole golf course near the airport Tivat and a possible acquisition of Bijela shipyard, which is to be converted into a yacht shipyard.
