Portsalon

Port Salon (Irish port tSalainn ) is an on Town Country Croaghross (Irish Creamhros ) belonging to a village in County Donegal in the extreme North of Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Port Salon is located on the western shore of Lough Swilly arm of the sea on the peninsula of Fanad in the far north of County Donegal, across the Inishowen Peninsula east of Lough Swilly. Administratively part of Port Salon to Donegal North East. The nearest towns are Milford and Rathmullan.

Since the second half of the 20th century Port Salon has developed into a popular seaside resort, not least because the beach south of Port Salon is one of the best beaches in Europe. As a consequence, a number of holiday homes in the region originated.
