Pošta Crne Gore

The Posta Crne Gore ( Montenegro Post English ) is the national postal company in Montenegro. It was founded on 31 December 1998 as a result of the splitting of PTT Montenegro into two separate companies. Today, the Posta Crne Gore employs more than 1000 employees.

History

The beginnings of postal services in Montenegro dates back to the 15th century, mail transported as couriers to Constantinople Opel through today's Montenegro. The cornerstone of the public postal service in Montenegro was laid in 1841. Back in 1854, an Austrian post office was opened on the territory of Montenegro. Early 1870s opened the first Montenegro own post office and in 1874 was the small country's first postage stamp with the image of King Nikola published. 1913 was for the time being the last time the issue own postage stamps, as Montenegro was part of Yugoslavia then.

Posta Crne Gore The company was founded on 31 December 1998 in addition to the Crnogorski Telekom as one of the successor companies of PTT Montenegro.

On 15 December 2005 Montenegro was able to resume issuing own stamps again. The accession to the Universal Postal Union on 26 July 2006 and on 17 January 2008, the membership of the Post Europ.
