Potsdam University Library

The Potsdam University Library is the largest academic library in the country Brandenburg and a central infrastructure facility. It supplies researchers, faculty and students of the University of Potsdam with literature and other information resources. Citizens of the region and members of other Potsdam and Berlin universities and non-university institutions it is also available.

Structure and Organization

The library is organized as a " single-layer " library system with unified management and centralized resource allocation. The three area libraries are locally located, according to the scattered location of the university. History

The library was founded in 1991 as the library of the University of Potsdam newly founded in the same year. It integrates stocks of predecessor institutions such as the College of Education Karl Liebknecht at the New Palace and Babelsberg Academy of Law and Political Science of the GDR. Since 2009, the UB Potsdam integrates the specialized library of the former research center European Enlightenment ( FEA). University Archives

The University Archives was created in 1991 from the archives of the Brandenburg State High School, its immediate predecessor the archives for the College of Education was " Karl Liebknecht " in Potsdam. University Press

The publication of the University Library Potsdam, founded in 1998, is an integrated service for print and e-publishing. It combines the responsibilities for University Publishing House, Document Server, University bibliography and Exchange Department.
