Pottsville is a town in Schuylkill County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

It is the county seat of Schuylkill County and lies on the banks of the Schuylkill River.

According to the 2000 census, the city had a population of 15,549 inhabitants. It occupies an area of 10.9 km ².

In Pottsville is the Yuengling Brewery, which was founded in 1829 and claims to be the oldest brewery in the United States.
