Power Quest

PowerQuest is an international power metal band from the UK.

Biography

PowerQuest was founded in March 2001 by keyboardist Steve Williams, who had previously left the London power metal band DragonForce, in Southampton. He was supported by bassist Steve Scott, who also was a member of DragonForce until then.

Met with Sam Totman (co-founder of Dragon Force) and Adam Bickers shortly afterwards added two guitarists, was with their support in 2001 recorded the first demo and uploaded on MP3.com.

In April 2002 the band by singer Alessio Garavello was strengthened, the singing templates for the band's debut album ( Wings of Forever ) submitted in June 2002. Was accompanied by guitarist Garavello while his band, Arthemis, Andrea Martongelli who contributed some passages about the new album. After the release of the album Adam Bickers left the band, prompting PowerQuest Andrea Martongelli integrated as a substitute fixed in the band.

In January 2003, drummer Andre Bargmann was joined by, however, who left the band in July the same year again and was initially replaced by Gavin Ward. In March 2004, the second album of the band appeared ( Neverworld ). After the release of Neverworld Sam Totman left the band permanently, to devote himself exclusively to his band again Dragonforce.

In November 2004, the band began recording their third studio album Magic Never Dies, which was released under the label Majestic Rock Records 2005.

Late 2005/early 2006, the band achieved great success with their " Magic Never Dies Tour" in Europe.

In August 2006, PowerQuest decided to make the previous singer Alessio Garavello same time the 2nd guitarist of the band, because this place has been vacant since Bickers exit 2003.

In October 2007, it was announced on an official Napalm Records MySpace page that PowerQuest had signed a contract with Napalm Records.

In December 2007, keyboardist Steve Williams announced the official PowerQuest forum 5 guest appearances on the 4th album (Master Of Illusion ). On the one hand was the guitarist Bill Hudson of the North American power metal band Cellador, who played an instrumental passage in the title "The Virgil ". The second was Richard West of the British progressive metal band Threshold. He supported the band with a keyboard solo in " Human Machine ". The third guest was Jorn Viggo Lofstad, known accompanied by the Norwegian band Pagan's Mind, the Power Quest on their tour in 2006. On April 25, the album Master Of Illusion appeared in Europe.

In June 2008, Power Quest announced that guitarist Bill Hudson joined the band. Hudson had already heard as a guest on the title "The Virgil " the album Master Of Illusion.

Early January 2009, leaving bassist and co-founder Steve Scott the band to live in New Zealand. Only a month later PowerQuest presented a successor by Oliver Holzwarth. Holzwarth is a member of the German metal band Blind Guardian since 1997.

In April 2009, Steve Williams announced that PowerQuest and guitarist Bill Hudson will go their separate ways in the future. Reason for this was that Hudson lived the only member of the band in the U.S..

In July 2009, PowerQuest explained that the lead singer Alessio Garavello will leave the band after seven years. PowerQuest now sets out to search for a replacement to begin shooting for the 5th studio album can.

In September 2009, Andrea Martongelli, Francesco Tresca and Oliver Holzwarth left the band, leaving only keyboardist Steve Williams remained of the former occupation. But only a short time later, the new cast was presented. It involves the singer Pete Morten, guitarists Andy Midgley and Ben Randall and drummer Rich Smith and bassist Paul Finnie.

In May 2010, there was another change in the cast. After Pete Morten and Ben Randall had left the band, singer and guitarist Gavin Owen Chitral Somapala were committed.

In September 2011, then followed by another change; Colin Callanan now replaced Chitral Somapala as a singer.

On 10 January 2013, the band released their next resolution in the current year is known. The large volume of work and financial problems were, according to Steve Scott, the reasons for the separation.
