The River Pranburi (Thai: แม่น้ำ ปราณบุรี ) flows on the Malay Peninsula through the province Prachual Khiri Khan, Thailand.
The origins of the Pranburi in the southern part of the National Park Kaeng Krachan. It has a catchment area of about 2000 km ², and after approximately 130 kilometers it flows into the Gulf of Thailand. The only major settlement on the river is the city of Pranburi.
Pranburi Dam
Pranburi Dam ( ⊙ 12.46251650222299.793710708611 ) was established in 1978 to secure the lowlands against flooding regularly occurring and to obtain a reliable irrigation. The dam is 42 meters high and 1.5 kilometers wide and provides an artificial lake of 35.2 km ², with around 445 million cubic meters of water quantity.
At the mouth lies the forest reserve Pranburi.
