Prapawadee Jaroenrattanatarakoon

Prapawadee Jaroenrattanatarakoon ( Thai: ประภา วดี เจริญ รัตน ธารา กูล, previous name Chanpim Kantatian - จันทร์ พิมพ์ กันทะ เตียน; born 29 MAY 1984 the province of Nakhon Sawan, Northern Thailand) is a Thai weightlifter.

Prapawadee Jaroenrattanatarakoon occurs in the class to 53 kg. Since the early 2000s, it is a world leader in its weight class. In 2003, she won at the World Championships in Vancouver 97.5 kg of silver in the snatch and thrusting in with 120.0 kg and in the overall standings with 217.5 kg bronze. 2005 were added to the gold medal in the snatch (98 kg), as well as silver medals in pushing (125 kg) and the combination (223 kg) in Doha. Not quite as great success they had in the 2007 World Cup at home in Chiang Mai, where she served as fourth placed just missed medals in all three competitions. In the Asian Championships in 2007 in Tai'an Jaroenrattanatarakoon won gold in the snatch and silver in the jerk and the combination. Two years earlier, in Dubai won the Thai all three titles.

The biggest success of her career reached Prapawadee at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. There she was awarded with the Olympic record of 221 kg, the gold medal in her weight class before South Korean Jinhee Joon. In thrusting she worked with 126 kg another Olympic record, but will be awarded at the Olympic Games only in the combination medals.
