Preben Philipsen

Preben Philipsen Constantin ( born January 18, 1910 in Copenhagen, † 21 September, 2005 Klampenborg ) was a Danish film producer.

Life

Philipsen was the son of the Danish film pioneer Constantin Philipsen, founder of the Rialto movie. On April 1, 1950 he founded, together with the German film Kaufmann Waldfried Barthel under registration no. 1944 in Frankfurt am Main, a film distributor, who was called to the common name of father and son Philipsen towards Constantin Film Distribution GmbH.

Due to his good contacts with the American film company United Artists, he enabled to bring it to the Constantin Film Distribution, United Artists films exclusively in the German movie theater. The first was in 1950 Charlie Chaplin's Gold Rush.

Five years served as president of Constantin Philipsen. Having a foreign partner was no longer compulsory in Germany, retired in 1955 from Philipsen at Constantin. With it, he produced several Scandinavian and German films and still wont built a strong relationship with Constantin Film Distribution.

On November 1, 1960, he appointed Horst Wendlandt to Head of Production of Constantin relapsed at Philipsen prism rental.
