Preki as coach of Toronto FC ( 2010)

Predrag " Preki " Radosavljević (* June 24, 1963 in Belgrade ) is an American football coach and former international player.

Career as a football player

Radosavljević began his footballing career in 1983 with Red Star Belgrade.

From there he moved to the U.S. and played indoor soccer in the Major Indoor Soccer League at the Tacoma Stars and St. Louis Storm.

In 1992 he returned to Europe for three years and played at Everton ( 1992-94 ) and Portsmouth FC ( 1994-95 ). After his trip to the English Premier League he played with the San Jose Grizzlies of the Continental Indoor Soccer League American, an existing Hallenfußballiga to 1997.

In 1996 he moved to the Kansas City Wizards in the newly formed MLS. There he plays up to his career in late 2006. Except the year 2001, in which he played fusion in Miami.

For the Wizards, he still holds the record for the most goals (71 ) and most templates (98).

National

After he had in 1996 accepted the U.S. citizenship, he played 28 times for the U.S. national team, scoring 4 goals. He also belonged to the World Cup squad in France in 1998, where he completed two games. On 10 February 1998, he scored the only goal in spectacular 1-0 victory over Brazil. It was the first and only time that the U.S. was able to win against the South Americans.

Career as a coach

Chivas USA

From 2007 to 2009 Preki was coach of CD Chivas USA and led the team to three playoff appearances in a row. In 2007 he was even appointed as the coach of the year in the United States.

On 12 November 2009, Preki separated " by mutual consent " of the Chivas. Previously lost the Chivas against Los Angeles Galaxy in the play- offs.

Toronto FC

Since November 19, 2009 is Predrag Radosavljević new coach of Toronto FC. His first and only success with the team he had on 2 June 2010 as the Toronto Canadian Championship 2010 and won so that qualified for the CONCACAF Champions League. He was released on 14 September 2010, together with sporting director Mo Johnston.

Sacramento Republic FC

To have worked after three years without a coach, Preki was confirmed on 15 July 2013 as the new coach of Sacramento Republic. The team is from the 2014 season accumulate in the USL Professional Division.
