Premier Automotive Group

The Premier Automotive Group (PAG ) was established in 1998, is part of Ford Motor Company, and gathered the premium and luxury brands of the Group organization under one roof, based in London. The stamps were sold and operate independently today.

History

2006 included the following premium and luxury brands to PAG:

  • Aston Martin (2007 sold)
  • ( Sold with Aston Martin) Lagonda
  • Jaguar ( 2008 Tata sold)
  • Daimler ( Jaguar sold)
  • Land Rover ( Jaguar sold)
  • Volvo Cars (2010 sold to Geely Holding)
  • Rover ( sold only as a brand name, with Jaguar)

From 1998 to 2002 included the U.S. brand Lincoln to PAG. Since Lincoln did not let as specially tailored to the U.S. design premium brand worldwide market, this brand was spun off from the PAG again.

In 2006, the Ford Motor Company, BMW ( in the exercise of Vorkaufsrechtes from the original sale of the brand Land Rover ) to protect the trademark rights for the British brand Rover, to prevent a sale of the brand to the Chinese SAIC and the brand Land Rover. Finally, the brand was sold together with Jaguar.

On 12 March 2007 the sale of the brand Aston Martin to a group of international investors was announced. Ford will retain 15 % of the shares. The acquisition was completed on 2 June 2008.

The brands Jaguar and Land Rover were sold in package in early 2008 to the Indian Tata Group. For the hitherto profitable brand Volvo Cars, but in 2008 turned into losses zone and still only operating brand of PAG was a takeover offer from the Chinese manufacturer Geely was adopted in December 2008 and ultimately sold in 2010. The Ford Group intends, in Europe in the future primarily on the core Ford brand.
