Geely ( chinese吉利 汽车(trad. ) /吉利 汽车( vereinf. ), Pinyin Jí Li Qi Che, auspicious Automobile ') is a Chinese automobile and motorcycle manufacturers. The headquarters of Geely Holding is located in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province. Geely has seven locations to complete production of cars. These include the cities of Linhai, Luqiao and Ningbo in Zhejiang Province and Shanghai, Xiangtan in Hunan, Shandong Jinan, Lanzhou in Gansu. Another location for the production of parts is located in Chengdu in Sichuan.

History
On 6 November 1986, the company's founder, Li Shu Fu opened the first factory for refrigerator parts. In April 1992, the company began to manufacture motorcycles. On August 8, 1998, the first car of Geely left the factory in Linhai, Zhejiang Province. In April 2003, the 100,000 th vehicle rolled off the assembly line. In China, Geely has been relatively successful, but in the U.S. and in the EU, the brand is not well known. The technique of models stems largely from the Japanese car manufacturer Daihatsu.
