Election procedures

Macedonia is a parliamentary democracy with far-reaching responsibilities and duties of the President. However, the president has far less political power than the Prime Minister. In the 5-year cycle, the people will be called to the polls to elect the president. This then has the task of determining a candidate from the party or coalition that forms the majority in parliament, which forms the government. These must then be still primarily approved by Parliament.
