Preston Foster

Preston Foster ( born August 24, 1900 in Ocean City, † July 14, 1970 in La Jolla, California ) was an American actor.

Life and work

Foster first worked as a bus driver, shipping lines and employee wrestler. During the 1920s he began his career as an actor. He acted in plays like Two Seconds by Elliott Lester and The Silent House of George Pickett and John G. Brandon, but also appeared as a singer on at the Grand Opera of Pennsylvania.

With the dawn of the talkie era in Hollywood he found access to the film. He was in 1932 as a one-armed, equipped with synthetic meat inventor Dr. Wells in Doctor X, and especially in 1935 as leader of the Irish freedom fighter Dan Galagher in John Ford's The Traitor known. From 1954 to 1955 he was star of the popular television series Waterfront.
