Prince Alexander of Prussia

Prince Friedrich Wilhelm of Prussia Alexander Ludwig ( born June 21, 1820 in Berlin, † January 4, 1896 in Berlin) was royally Prussian general.

Life

He entered 1830 into the military, in 1852 promoted to Major General in 1864 and General of Infantry. From 1861 he was head of the 3rd Westphalian Infantry Regiment No. 16 As such, he led during the Austro-Prussian War in 1866 battles against Austria and the German -French war against France from 1870 to 1871.

Family

He was the eldest son of Frederick of Prussia (1794-1863) and Wilhelmine Luise Princess of Anhalt- Bernburg ( 1799-1882 ). His brother was George of Prussia.
