Prince Frederick of Schaumburg-Lippe

Prince Friedrich of Schaumburg -Lippe, full name Friedrich Georg Wilhelm Bruno of Schaumburg -Lippe ( born January 30, 1868 in Castle Ratiborschitz, † December 12, 1945 in Kudowa ) was a German prince of the House of Schaumburg-Lippe and until 1945 last owner of Sekundogenitur Náchod.

Life

Prince Frederick was the son of Prince Wilhelm of Schaumburg -Lippe and Princess Bathildis (1837-1902), second daughter of Prince Frederick Augustus of Anhalt- Dessau and his wife Marie of Hesse- Kassel. On May 5, 1896, he married Princess Louise of Denmark ( 1875-1906 ), daughter of King Frederick VIII of Denmark. His wife, Louise, died of meningitis. Three years later married Prince Friedrich in his second marriage on May 26, 1909 Princess Antoinette of Anhalt ( 1885-1963 ), daughter of Crown Prince Leopold of Anhalt and Princess Elisabeth of Hesse- Kassel.

Prince Frederick, the last owner of Nachod, was deported a German citizen after World War II on May 12, 1945, near the state line into Sackisch in Glatz. He died there on 12 December 1945. By agreement between the Polish and Czech authorities, his body was transferred to Nachod and buried near the castle in silence on the old military cemetery ( cemetery on the white cross in Nachod ).

Prince Frederick and Princess Louise had two daughters and a son:

  • Prince Christian of Schaumburg -Lippe ( * February 20, 1898, † 13 July 1974)
  • Princess Stephanie of Schaumburg -Lippe ( * December 19, 1899, † May 2, 1925 )

Prince Frederick and Princess Antoinette had two sons:

  • Prince Leopold of Schaumburg -Lippe ( * February 21, 1910, † 25 January 2006)
  • Prince Wilhelm of Schaumburg -Lippe ( * August 24, 1912, † March 4, 1938 )
