Prince Royce

Prince Royce (* May 11, 1989 in New York as Geoffrey Royce Rojas ) is an American - Latin pop singer.

Career

Geoffrey Royce Rojas is the son of immigrants from the Dominican Republic. At 20 he released his debut album with his stage name Prince Royce as the title. With an English- Spanish version of the classic Stand by Me by Ben E. King, he caught the end of 2009 much attention and got away with it in the top ten of the Latin charts. His second single, Corazon sin cara even reached number 1 of these charts. His debut album, which sold first hesitant, then peaked at # 77 in the official charts and stayed over 40 weeks in the top 200 It sold over three million copies

The following year he sang with the band Maná mexanischen a verdadero amor perdona the song El and thus came again topped the Latin charts. Another collaboration this year, Ven conmigo with Daddy Yankee, was another top ten hit. His third runner followed a year later with Las cosas pequeñas. It was the first single from his second album, Phase II, which came to number 16 in 2012 in the official sales charts and again was a million seller. With incondicional and Te me vas it contained two more hit singles, which both reached number two on the Latin charts.

Before the release of his third studio album Prince Royce moved to Sony Music. Soy el mismo was released internationally in 2013 and was for example successfully in Spain. In the U.S. Latin Charts, it was his third number-one album and number 14 on the Billboard 200, he reached his highest placing up to that point. Particularly successful was the single Darte un beso, his fourth Latin - number-one who remained twelve weeks in the official U.S. singles charts.
