Princess Catherine of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Beck

Princess Catherine of Holstein -Beck (* February 23, 1750, † December 20, 1811 ) was the daughter of Peter August Duke of Holstein -Beck, a Russian Field Marshal and Governor of Estonia, and his second wife, Countess Natalia Nikolaievna Golovin.

On January 8, 1767, she married in Reval Prince Ivan Baryatinsky, who was Russian colonel at that time. After her separation from her husband she bought on March 29, 1800 from the secret Oberhof printer Georg Jacob Decker the Friedrichsfelde Castle near Berlin. In Prussia, they took with the approval of the king back to her birth name, which later became Duchess Catherine of Holstein -Beck until her death a generous budget with close ties to the royal family. In addition to Castle Friedrichsfelde they still had a house in Berlin at the Pariser Platz.

She was the grandmother of Field Marshal Alexander Ivanovich Baryatinsky.
