Princess Leopoldina of Brazil

Leopoldina Francisca Teresa Micaela Gabriela Rafaela Gonzaga Carolina de Bragança ( born July 13, 1847 in Rio de Janeiro, † February 7, 1871 in Vienna) was a princess of Brazil.

Life

Leopoldina was a daughter of Emperor Peter II of Brazil and Teresa Princess Maria Cristina of Naples and Sicily.

She married on 15 December 1864 Prince Ludwig August of Saxe- Coburg and Gotha, son of Prince August of Saxe- Coburg and Gotha and Clementine d' Orléans, Princess of France.

Princess Leopoldina died in 1871 at age 23 in Austria, of typhoid fever. She was buried in the so-called Koháry tomb of St. Augustine's church in Coburg.
